Client feedback and approval, made simple

Clear feedback.
A clear yes.

Share a design, PDF, video or website with one link. Your client clicks right on it to comment and approve, without signing up.

Free for one project at a time · No credit card

What a client sees: the Morning Tide coffee bag with three numbered pins, the notes beside it, and Ask for changes and Approve at the bottom.

Where feedback lives today

Screenshots with arrows drawn on. Notes across five email threads. “final_v7_really_final.pdf”. Basefile keeps every round in one place, for you and your client.

Share

Your client is in with one link.

Clients don’t want another account, so Basefile doesn’t give them one. Share one file or a whole project: send its link, or invite people by email. They open it, and your work is right there, with what needs them first.

Jordan’s view of the Coffee bags project, shared by Maya: the Morning Tide bag is ready for an answer.
  • Nothing to set up.

No account, no password, nothing to install. It works on any phone or computer.

  • You’ll know they’ve looked.

The first time your client opens a file, you hear about it, and the file says who opened it and when.

  • Their whole team.

Invite everyone at the client who needs a say. Each person signs in with their own link.

Feedback

Feedback right where they mean it.

No more decoding “the thing near the top, a bit to the left”. Your client clicks the spot and writes. Each note gets a numbered pin, and you reply right under it.

Maya’s view of the Morning Tide coffee bag: three pinned notes from Jordan and Sam, with her reply under the first.
  • Pin it, or just say it.

Pins are there when they help. A plain note works too.

  • Your work, as it is.

Images, PDFs, videos, and Illustrator, Photoshop, EPS, TIFF, SVG, HEIC and AVIF files open right in the browser. A website opens from its address.

  • Ticked off as you go.

Reply under a note, and tick it off when it’s done. Your client sees what’s done.

Versions

Every round, side by side.

Upload the next version with a note on what changed. Your client sees the newest one first, and either of you can compare any two with a slider or side by side.

Version 1 and version 3 of the Northshore logo, compared with a slider. Version 3 is approved.
  • Every version kept.

Older versions stay a click away, with the notes they got.

  • One file, one history.

The next version goes on the same file, so the whole story is in one place.

  • Nothing gets lost.

Last round’s notes stay with the version they were on.

Approval

A clear yes you can point to.

Ask your client for their approval when you want it: Approve, or Ask for changes. When they approve, Basefile keeps the record: who, when, which version, and their note.

The approval record for the Northshore logo: the design, and Jordan Avery as the person who approved it.
  • Ready as a PDF.

Download each approval record to keep with your files.

  • A thank-you for them.

Your client gets a thank-you with a link to the same record.

  • A new version asks again.

So a yes is always about what they saw.

Also included

The little things, done right.

Every plan includes them from your first project, and Studio adds your team.

Explore all features
  • On any phone

Your client can review, pin and approve on a phone as easily as on a computer.

  • Reminders, from you

When you ask for an answer, your client gets a reminder in your name, three at most. Or send one now with Nudge.

  • You hear right away

Notes, answers and first opens reach you as they happen, on your phone or computer too.

  • Clients upload too

Your client can send you files: their logo, photos, or the brief.

  • Your brand

Your name, logo and color on everything your client sees.

  • Your whole team

On Studio, up to five people share one account, and each project shows who’s on it.

  • Like an app

Put Basefile on your home screen or dock, in light or dark.

  • Yours to keep

Download a copy of your whole workspace whenever you like.

How it works

Your first file, shared in minutes.

  1. Drop in your work

It becomes your first project, ready for your client. Images, PDFs, videos, Illustrator and Photoshop files all work.

  2. Send it to your client

Email it from Basefile, or copy a link to paste anywhere. They don’t need an account or a password.

  3. Get notes, then a yes

They pin notes right on your work, and approve it when it’s right. You hear the moment they do.

Security

Private by default.

  • Only what you share

Files you haven’t shared and drafts never reach your client.

  • Links no one can reuse

An email sign-in link works once, then expires. Take someone off, and their access ends right away.

  • Every file checked

Each download is checked against who’s asking, and its link expires within minutes.

  • Your work stays yours

We never sell your data, and we never train AI on your work.

Questions

Before you share your first file.

For plans and billing, see the pricing page.

Do my clients need to create an account?

No. They open your email, or the link you sent them, and they’re in, on any device. If an email link has expired, they enter their email on the page it opens and get a new one.

What will my client see?

Your name and logo, and only what you share with them: a whole project, or a single file, with its notes. Files you haven’t shared, and your other clients, stay with you.

What kinds of files can I share?

Images, PDFs, and Illustrator, Photoshop, EPS, TIFF, SVG, HEIC and AVIF files open right in the browser, ready for notes. MP4, MOV and WebM videos up to an hour long play there too, with notes at any moment, and a website opens from its address, as a desktop and a phone show it. InDesign files, Office documents and ZIPs can be shared to download. Files can be up to 100 MB on Free, and 500 MB on Plus and Studio.

Will my clients get a lot of emails?

No. They hear when something needs them, files you share together arrive as one email, and reminders go out on the schedule you choose, three at most. They can also choose to hear only about what needs them.

Do my clients pay for Basefile?

No. You pay for Basefile, not your clients. They never see a bill from us.
